The sea and the surrounding environment are ideal for sports, both for professionals and amateurs, and the mild climate throughout the year guarantees a pleasant holiday in all seasons.

La Mazzanta offers a beach volley field, eight tennis courts (two of which indoor), skating rinks, bowling alleys, go-kart and minimotorbike tracks, bicycle rentals, bathing establishments with twin-hulled rowboats and pedal boats for rent as well as diving centres for scuba and winsurfing classes.

The greenery of pinewoods and forests and the paths on the hills are perfect for long walks and organized trekking excursions, while the bicycle is the best means of transport to enjoy the nature trails in the area.

Horse-riding is also available at several equestrian centres.

The seabed, rich in coastal fish and posidonia meadows, offers a unique natural environment for diving, fishing and photography lovers who can take advantage of diving centres, qualified instructors and specialized schools. Very interesting spots are the Isle of Gorgona, where access is stricly controlled, and the Meloria rocks – a historical and naturalistic area with very shallow waters.
